WNBL 2010-2011 – Round 12 – AIS Vs Dandenong

Dandenong commence their weekend in the nation’s capital with a Friday night clash with the AIS at the Training Hall.

The AIS did not end 2010 well. Being short-staffed on the floor and coming up against some formidable line-ups, they dropped a few games in the lead-up to the break.

Conversely, Dandenong’s run into the Festive Season was also less than desirable, dropping games to Bulleen, West Coast and Sydney Uni and slipping to fifth on the ladder after having second place sewn up.

Perhaps most importantly for the Rangers however is the return of floor general Kathleen MacLeod, who rejoins to the side after a month on the sidelines due to the effects of a concussion.

With two games over the weekend, they’ll be looking for her to have an immediate impact. But how much can she bring in her first game back.

With the AIS too far adrift from the front runners, a play-off run seems unlikely, but for Dandenong, who have the likes of Sydney and West Coast close behind, wins are a must at this point in the season.
